Why is Daylight Saving Time STILL a Thing in 2025?

President Donald Trump was asked by reporters in the Oval Office about eliminating daylight saving time, to which he responded that it’s a “50-50 issue,” noting the split public opinion on whether to prioritize more light in the morning or evening. He expressed ambivalence, suggesting that with such an even divide, it’s “hard to get excited” about making a change, despite his earlier campaign comments favoring its removal due to inconvenience and cost. While the U.S. Senate did pass the Sunshine Protection Act in 2022 by unanimous consent to make daylight saving time permanent, the bill stalled in the House and never became law, leaving the biannual clock changes intact. Without congressional action to either abolish or make daylight saving time permanent, any significant shift would still require legislative approval beyond Trump’s unilateral decision.

Well I'm 64 years old I have a day job managing woodlots all over northern Michigan. I love working with landowners to cater with their goals and objectives on their property. I work my online business after my day job and enjoy surfing and corresponding with fellow marketers. As always can't wait for summer to ride my Harley and do some fishing.
